"Cold War Patriots," friends?

Saw a commercial on TV, on the local CBS affiliate that broadcasts from western KY, about 75 miles from here. I put 2 + 2 together and figured it must have something to do with the former uranium enrichment plant there, now defunct.

There are or were maybe a half dozen such plants in operation in the US in the second half of the Atomic Century. Some of them have closed and are now Superfund sites being remediated by private contractors of varying degrees of shadiness.

So it turns out the Feds, when they saw the lawsuits starting to come in, decided to set up a program for all the people who worked in these plants and later got sick. But evidently they decided to privatize parts of THEIR job, so now there’s this big ass nonprofit running outta Denver that covers the whole country and is trying to act as an ambulance chaser that (out of the goodness of its heart) will hook you up with the program benefits if you qualify. Looks like a great racket.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the COIN you get for signing up.
