Sure… many times. Junction boxes, plating, shelves… you name it.

The one thing I’ve found is that the type and quality of bit have little effect. A high-end titanium bit will fair as poorly as a .$1.50 Buffalo bit. The key with drilling any solid metal is to first make a dimple in the surface.
