Or live where there’s snow in California, which many do.
There’s some nice slopes out near Tahoe. If you like pristine alpine lakes and powdery snow.

I’m way closer to where the fires usually are than Oak. Everyone in flyover land acts like the whole state is on fire when it’s a relatively small mostly rural area. Last year the fire was like 10-15 miles away.
