After failed Cool Mist technology let me down (what else could it do when you think about it), I purchased a warm mist unit. Not real powerful, but it works.

Serious question: Isn’t the humidity around 60% out there? Why is your home humidity so low?
It’s raining outside. Also, it is 40 degrees outside and 71 inside. Who can explain it?
Down to 31% now w/o the steamer on.
Update: 30%
Why don’t you turn on the steamer, then?
Well - I’m about to take my post hike shower. That should bring it up a bit. Then I’ll turn it on. I was curious how much the shower would effect the % humidity since I got this hygrometer to test it.
Furnace heat really dries out the air, still about 50% here.
I got that baseboard kind. When I first turn it on the air quality change is very dramatic. Dry as hell, feel like you’re in a desert.
I confused Woody with Duke for a minute there. Duke is the one who never turns on his furnace.
We don’t turn ours on much, either.
Or deliberately conflated?
(ducks and hides)
Okay - went up 2% at the far end of my little apartment.
3% now maybe.
Why are you so concerned about it?
Well, it’s like other things, if I can optimize it for health and comfort I will. But I have to study it a bit, ya know?
Are you saying Woody is Duke?
