Man charged with trespassing

A 35-year-old West Hazleton man was apprehended after Beaver Meadows police say they saw him on property he wasn’t allowed to be on.

John J. Miller was spotted Sunday around 11 a.m. at the rear of 61 Broad St., a place he was warned to stay away from due to a previous incident, Beaver Meadows Police Chief Mike Morresi said.

While speaking to Miller, Morresi said he appeared under the influence of a drug and was detained. A background check revealed he was wanted in Luzerne County, Morresi said.

Miller was taken into custody and lodged at Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning, until Luzerne County officials could pick him up.

He will face a trespassing violation in Beaver Meadows.
